About the Event
Islander is registered to participate in the 2022 Pride Parade and we are hoping the community will show up in a big way to show just how inclusive our space is 🏳️🌈
PARADE PREP NIGHT!
July 22nd at 7pm! We will meet at the gym and get all our swag ready for the big day. We will have supplies so all you need to do is show up!
PARADE DAY - WHEN/WHERE!
Meet at City Hall at 1:30pm on July 24th to get our place in the parade line-up. Wear all your athletic, colourful pride gear! Islander swag is appreciated but not required. The parade starts moving at 2:00pm sharp, so don't be late.
WHO!
Everyone! Bring your friends, family and pets :)
WHY!
Everyone should feel comfortable and safe being themselves, wherever they are. Unfortunately gyms tend to be some of the most difficult places to navigate for someone in the LGBTQ+ community. We want everyone to know we are here and can be that safe space to move, sweat and have fun. Let's spread the word to our broader community and do so by participating in the parade!
